Studio Assistant – Eugene – an update
I’m sure you all remember my little assistant, Eugene. He has grown a lot over the past year and he is really taking his job to heart. He is a huge help around the studio and a very hard worker. His main responsibilities include modeling, napping, re-arranging props (aka eating them) and making sure I take regular breaks from my screen (by sitting in front of it).
Our first home – We’ve moved!
Well, it’s official! We’ve moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania, and we couldn’t be more excited for this new adventure! After looking at thousands (maybe more like 40 but it felt like A TON) of houses, we’ve found the perfect little home for us. Rancher, corner lot, with a garage!
Motorcycle adventures – 4th of July weekend
Rain, twisties, AND gravel (even twisties ON gravel), our 4th of July trip was potentially my worst nightmare! Luckily it turned out to be anything but. We had a wonderful time exploring the beauties of Skyline Drive, enjoying the West Virginia twisties and camping at the highest campsite in WV!
Design work – Urban East
This project got its start in the usual fashion – taking a road trip with a complete stranger and then sharing a hotel bed together 😉 Lisa, who commissioned me for this logo design project, is a fellow moto riding gal and happens to have a really talented boyfriend starting up a custom motorcycle shop – Urban East.
Motorcycle adventure – Triumph Scrambler
We got a new toy!!! The hubby has always dreamed of having a Triumph Scrambler and the perfect one came up so, of course, we couldn’t pass it up. He was on the hunt for one of these beauties for months (Craigslist and eBay alerts in a 200 miles radius on top of scrolling through the pages every day “just in case” – madness!) when this brand new Scrambler showed up for sale!
Motorcycle adventure – American Supercamp
Motorcycles, dirt, mud, gravel (and Trump?!) Needless to say that my weekend at American Supercamp was very enriching, surprising, and lots of fun. I’m so glad I did it, conquered my fears, got out of my comfort zone, and had a great weekend with some awesome gals!
Design work – Ruste Protection
New motorcycle gear is awesome. But let’s admit it, most women’s gear sucks and a lot of men’s gear looks like it is more suited for snowmobile racing than riding a street bike. Ruste Protection is changing that and when this Finnish company reached out to me to add some illustrations to their new website I was stoked.
Ruste Protection takes your favorite everyday apparel and turns it into your favorite riding gear – with some serious protection. The company is made up of motorcyclists that get it. They line anything from pants, jackets and shirts with A LOT of Kevlar and even add pockets for armor. How great is that?! Bye bye snow pants and ill fitting riding jeans.
Motorcycle adventure – Easter ride
After the long winter, the temperatures dropping way below freezing, and the epic snowmageddon that hit the East Coast – the Spring has been more than welcome! Don’t get me wrong, I love cozying up on winter days and playing in the snow, but cold and ice are definitely not ideal conditions to ride. So when the grass got greener, the magnolia trees started to blossom and the temperatures got above 60, the bikes came out! An Easter well spent!
